A leopard gecko's colors range from sandy white to deep tan to sunset orange, mottled with dark spots. Their eyes are ebony black and huge, their back is lightly ridged. Their claws are spread like a bird's and their tail stores fat.

They are reptiles that come from the desert, they like to hide in the shade and scuttle about. They eat insects, crickets being a favorite, they bask in the sunlight and require a fair amount of heat. Once in a while they shed their skin, the humidity level must be 60 to 80% otherwise they will be unable to shed and will die in their small skins.
